Rockvilla is a friendly modern B&B in a lovely large garden right on the Ring of Kerry at Templenoe near Kenmare.

We offer excellent comfortable accomodation with really good food and facilities.

All rooms have shower & toilet, TV , Central Heating and Tea-Making facilities and there's lots of easy private parking space.

There are reduced rates for stays of 3 nights or more except in July and August.

Why not stay in the tranquility of the countryside instead of the noise of the town ?

We also have Single Rooms -a rarity on the Ring of Kerry ! (although these are limited in July and August).

An Excellent three course Dinner at 19 Euro pp is available with 2 hours notice - fresh fish and local produce is our speciality.

(We don't have a drinks license though so please bring your own wine or beer !)

Our large Dining Room has a lovely view towards the river and mountains..

It's run by Ann and Keith Jones and you'll always get a warm welcome at Rockvilla.

It's a perfect centre for exploring the Ring of Kerry or The Ring of Beara

We're just 2.5 miles from Kenmare with it's great Shops,Restaurants and Pubs.

You'll find us a really good centre for touring and sightseeing .

Local amenities include TWO superb Golf Courses (Kenmare and Ring of Kerry)

We are only a couple of minutes away from The Ring of Kerry Golf Course.,

Our two Spaniels are Jade and Saffi but they are not permitted to play with Guests !

(usually they are very quiet and kept in our private quarters !)

We offer:

Salmon,Trout,Beach or Sea Fishing,

Horse Riding from Dromquinna Stables a couple of minutes away,

Llama Trekking,

Walking on the Kerry Way,

Cycling

and a super Local Pub (Pat Spillane's).

We're just a few minutes drive from Kenmare (locally called Neidin - which means little nest and it really is a cosy Town) where you'll find traditional music in Pubs almost every night and there's a wide choice of restaurants there too..we have menus from most Kenmare restaurants for clients to view .

Why not spend a couple of hours on the Seafari exploration voyage which is a fun way to view Kenmare Bay with friendly and knowledgeable local people.

You'll usually see seals on Seafari trips and maybe even dolphins !

If you're interested in Archaeology there are literally hundreds of Standing Stones,Stone Circles as well as ruined Castles and Abbeys within easy reach.

Killarney is just 22 miles away and offers a fantastically beautiful National Park with Lakes and mountains of an unforgettable nature. You can also see there Muckross House and Abbey ,the spectacular Torc Waterfall and have a ride in a Jaunting Car or just visit the amazingly well stocked shops

(or try a pint of Guinness in the most unusual bar in Ireland - a sweet shop !)

Early in the morning(very early) you can see the deer drinking at the lakeside (if you know where to look !)

We have special out of season Long Weekend Rates and hold all-inclusive regular courses on Art and Photography with field trips to exciting and visually stimulating places where you'll see stunningly beautiful landscapes and interesting Archaeological sites - non-participating partners are welcome at reduced rates.
The Photo Schools usually include Killarney National Park and sometimes the Skellig Islands.

A trip to the Skellig Islands can also be arranged - it's a full day tour and includes transport and a packed lunch and water (The Skellig Islands have no shops !) On the Skelligs you'll see a huge colony of PUFFINS (in June,July and August)

and Gannets and other Sea Birds (some really close)

We have over 400 local Stone Circles,Standing Stones,Ogham Stones nearby and we'll direct you to the more accessible ones - oh yes, we also have lots of Castles,Abbeys,Picturesque Harbours and Pubs to visit....

Keith can show you the more acccessible ones and tell you about them plus the Buttertubs,Ogham Stones and other ancient sites including a church with a Neolithic head over the door.

Keith also acts as a tour guide and (when available) will show you places and sights that aren't even in the guidebooks !

He will drive small parties round the Ring of Kerry or The Ring of Beara and show you the best sights and tell you all about them for a modest fee ( 100 Europlus the cost of petrol.) This can be in your own car if you prefer.This is a FULL DAY tour and a lunch stop is made at a local pub where you can buy an excellent meal or snack. This tour is also available from Hotels and Guest Houses in Kenmare or Killarney and includes pickup from either location for a party of up to 3 people.

Glengarrif's amazing Gardens are just over half an hour's drive away through spectacular scenery and of course the Ring of Kerry has some of the most stunning scenery in Ireland.


If you feel more active we can also offer Kayak Trips,Rock Climbing and Mountaineering with fully qualified Instructors.

There's Internet Access at Kenmare Post Office and at the Internet Store in Rock Street Kenmareand if you need Computers or supplies we'd suggest using Leader's in Beech Street Killarney or The Computer Store in Rock Street Kenmare(both are very helpful and a large number of Internet workstations with very fast access or wireless connections)

Across the River from us you'll find the Ring of Beara with Spectacular Passes and Mountains,Stone Circles,Picturesque villages and beaches, and there's even a Leprechaun Pub. This is a much more rugged land but with it's own wild beauty and a super nature park at Gleninchaquin with lakes and waterfalls

(and a first-class cream tea !).

There's a colony of Seals and a Heronry near us and they know a good spot when they see it ...

you can see Herons almost always at Coss Strand beach about a mile away from us.

There's a wealth of wildlife nearby with Birds,Badgers.wild goats and Deer.

Our Bullfinches in Spring are incredible colours - vivid Red !!

Our very comfortable rooms are all en-suite and have TV and Tea Making Facilities

Ann will be happy to show you her favourite parts of the garden She's a very keen gardener !

Keith is a noted Travel Photographer and many of our furnishings are influenced by things he's seen on his travels.

He also practices REIKI in the Usui Shiki Ryoho System of Natural Healing.

Enjoy a HUGE Irish breakfast with a view to the Estuary

There are excellent local facilities at Pat Spillanes Pub.

We're just 2.5 miles from Kenmare and there's a wealth of fine restaurants there.

Templenoe Pier is just a couple of minutes stroll away to this lovely view and a view to the whole of the Beara Peninsula.

Our nightly rate is 30 Euros per person sharing , 40 Euros for a single room .

Family room for 3 or 4 people is 90 Euro per night This is a very large rom with dresing room and wc/Shower as well.

All prices include a buffet AND a cooked breakfast (and Keith's World Famous Chocolate Chip Muffins !)

We prefer Euros or Sterling or US Dollars as payment.

All rooms have TV and Tea-making facilities.The Large Family Room has satellite tv.

We have Family rooms available at 90 Euros per night per room including The Big Breakfast for three or four people.

From Kenmare Town Centre follow the signs for SNEEM (N70)

we are just 2 and 1/2 miles along on the right hand side

- we have a big red and white B&B sign !

Rockvilla is much more friendly than most B&B's and you'll feel at home here.
