Kerry  Photographic School

I'm holding a series of long weekend Tutorials

These take place in Beautiful County Kerry and are a practical course on Landscape Photography.

You'll be collected from Kerry Airport (buy your flight from Ryanair who fly from Stansted) and we'll start shooting within an hour of your arrival ! (subject to light and weather !!)Visits are included to the Killarney National Park,Spectacular Mountain scenery, Harbours,Ruined Churches and Castles,Stone Circles and Standing Stones. All tuition is on a Digital basis and you should bring a digital camera and lenses and your USB cable. (but a basic Digital Camera can still produce great results.) My main intention is to develop your seeing eye - which means leaving behind many concepts !!
Practical hints include equipment and filters, basic Photoshop tuition and montages.

We may also be able to photograph deer or seals but this is not guaranteed

You can book a 3-day Photoschool course with me for only € 380 including tuition,b&b and dinner The course does not include lunch (usually at a pub) or drinks. Use of computer and materials are included.Courses are limited to a maximum of 6 people.
Non-participating partners are also welcome and the fee for your partner is €200 including B&B and dinner each day/

Currently available dates are :
28th January 2005
18th February 2005
5th March 2005

I teach in small classes practical and sensible ways to drastically improve your photography.
Classes are of Three day duration and include field trips
You'll need to bring with you :
About 6 Prints or Digital pictures on a cd rom to discuss with Keith. A Camera (preferably Digital as we no longer process film here !)
Your USB Cable (for your Digital Camera) Spare Memory Card or Memory Stick Flashgun suitable for your specific camera (recommended but not essential)
Spare batteries for your camera and flashgun
Memory cards or film for your camera
Tripod - medium to heavy duty
Cable release
Camera Bag and LARGE polythene bags to protect equipment against rain !
Waterproof Jacket and waterproof shoes or wellingtons
notepad and pen for field trips
Warm windproof jacket, sweater and thermal underwear until May is essential as we'll be going up into the mountains unless the weather is extreme !

Accomodation will be in a comfortable local B&B with excellent food.

I have to warn you that it does sometimes rain in Ireland so we may be forced to seek shelter in a neighbouring pub. However I then implement plan B which is a general discussion about landscape and stock photography with a question and answer session.

There'll be lessons on stock photography too and you'll be given a set of course notes.
You will be taken to several remote and beautiful locations and these may involve fairly long but not difficult walks (up to a couple of miles )- if we have any disabled or other clients who would prefer easier locations then this is simple to arrange.
Many of the locations will not have been visited by many photographers and facilities are ... well they're just not there ! So make use of the facilities before we leave ...
We'll have a discussion on the first night to see what clients would prefer to visit - it's your course and I want to help you get the best out of it.
If any clients want to photograph Deer, this will entail a very early start (5.30 leave time) as that's when the deer are accessible and not too shy.
We don't always see deer though but the sunrises here can be magnificent.
In the evenings we'll discuss digital scanning and printing and how to sell your fine art photography. If you are interested, please e-mail me : amberlodge@eircom.net
